Gates of Fire : An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae

This is a great fictional book about an important historical event. So while you are getting entertained, you can actually learn some history too. Only drawback might be that it is a bit of a downer.

In 480 B.C. three hundred of Sparta's finest warriors (with some help) held back the invading millions of the Persian empire and valiantly gave their lives in the selfless service of democracy and freedom. You can visit the site today and see a memorial that roughly translates to "Go tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie."

"What's So Great About America" by Dinesh D'Souza. http://tinyurl.com/4usm5 Clear-headed, brilliant tome by one of modern politics' greatest thinkers. One of my very favorites.

The new Dean Koontz, "Life Expectancy" is grand brain candy, as are about half his books. It's at http://tinyurl.com/6bc8k I also really enjoyed his "From the Corner of His Eye" as well. http://tinyurl.com/3vvh7

Michael Crichton's latest, "State of Fear" is a thought-provoking pseudo-expose of radical environmentalism that makes for a gripping read. http://tinyurl.com/3jsrc

Hope this helps to keep you engrossed and entertained.
