Good news, if you are heading to San Ignasio from Belize City, there is now a shuttle ($60BZE). Good-bye schoolbus! Just contact Mayawalk in SI:824-3070 or e-mail: [email protected]
There have always been shuttles from Belize City to San Ignacio, but they've been US$25 to $30 a person. But if Mayawalk can do it for US$7.50 a person, that will be great (and a miracle, given the price of gas these days).
Lenny from Mayawalk has quoted me $30 USD each to go from the water taxi landing in Belize City to Crystal Paradise near S.I. I've let him know that it said here that it is $7.50 to S.I. and we will see if he'll come down in price. Sounds like what he is quoting is what shuttles have charged in the past. Maybe the cheaper fare didn't work out or maybe it is jacked up due to the holidays....I need to travel on 12/26.
I am going to San Ignasio for Christmas. I will try to find out what is going on. I paid $15BZE about a month ago. There are usually taxis sitting at the watertaxi station and they will take you for anywhere from $150 to $175BZE, so if there are more than four people, that would be cheaper! Sorry about the apparent misinformation. Back to the old school bus!
Speaking of the old school bus....if we arrive at the water taxi stand in Belize City, how do we get to the bus station from there? Is it close by? Also, how frequently do water taxis leave A.C. for Belize City?
