Men over 40 wear neckties because it feels so good to take them off.

Men over 40 hum along to elevator music.

Men over 40 no longer think of the speed limit as a challenge.

Men over 40 wish that they had beer biceps instead of a beer gut.

Men over 40 know there's nothing left to learn the hard way.

People telephone men over 40 at 9 p.m. and say, "Did I wake you?"

Men over 40 have heated arguments about pension plans, and love to hear about other people's operations.

You know you're a man over 40 when:

You can live without sex but not without your glasses...
You don't even bother anymore to suck in your gut...
You've met so many people, everyone you meet reminds you of someone else...
You have a party and none of your neighbours know...

OK, let's get something straight here.

I can only identify with two of the statements. Is this what women think is normal in men? Whoooeee, we need some PR work.

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

When I hit 60 I MIGHT (but it would be unlikely) relate to one of those items.

You must hang out with people who peaked WAY to early in life.

It is not my words, just quotes from others, none as good as Andy Rooney...

I think 60 hits the mark better (sorry Mark) and BTW, I love all men who are decent, aged 2 to 102.

This is a retort and a challenge from another thread Mr. John in Denver. It is a joke (laugh here). 90% of the men I presently associate with are in their 40's. 90% of the men who come into the bar are 40's. I have made a lifelong study of men in their 40's... I know this stuff is exaggerated, it is just supposed to be... FUN.

Denver, honey, I am 29... what do I know of the world? I was married for 21 years (child bride) and have no experience with life other than 25 years in Montreal, three years with a huge carnival and four years in the... Mafia! (Ssshhhh! No one on this message board knows that...) I also "cooked" for the NHL, the CFL, and the BURP(ies) as opposed to Yuppies, Big Ugly Rural People. No DINKs around here!
