Ok guys and galls, my 12 yr old son just asked this question, I only know of sharks having a membrane that shields there eyes when feeding, what else is out there, enquireing minds want to know.

Fish don't have eyelids. They don't need to blink to keep their eyes moist. Sharks don't really have eyelids. The cover that closes over them during a strike is probably for self-protection during the attack.

Octopus can close their eyes.
