I have a specific question for divers or others who have visited Roatan, Honduras. I have been there myself, and remember the biting sand flies as being really nasty. We saw folks whose legs were covered with welts. There was some specific antidote which worked better than even DEET, which I guess was uneffective. It was something weird like baby oil, or some Avon product or something. Does anyone know? My sister is going in March and I wanted to give her the "heads up". Thanks in advance. wink laugh

hi..

never been to Roatan but can answer that.. Use Avon Skin So Soft - the original oily type - Or use baby oil. The key is to create an oily slick that the sand fleas and mosquitos get stuck and drown in. You just wipe them off with a napkin. Skin So Soft smells good. I brought other bug repellant and kept borrowing my friend's Skin So Soft. She put it in a small spray bottle she could easily carry along.

So how is Roatan? Fabulous?
