I'll step on Denny's toes.
Let's talk bridges again. That's always fun! :p
Here in the US, we really know how to build bridges. Maybe we can supply a consultant or two to AC for their project, eh?
For example:
A proposed bridge to connect Ketchikan AK (pop. less than 8000 hardy souls) to Gravina Island is looking pretty promising. The project will replace a rather picaresque 7-minute ferry ride between Ketchikan and Gravina (where the local airport is actually located).
Costs are estimated in the US$315 million range.
Now, to be fair, there are nearly 13,000 residents in the county, trimming the project down to something in the range of only US$25,000.00 or so per person.
Anybody got a breakdown on the local project figures?
:p
