Continental Airlines just started one direct flight (I believe daily) to and from Newark, NJ to Belize City. I am not sure if it's seasonal or permanent.

I know we are always looking for direct flights so I thought this information would be helpful to some.

previously. they've run Saturday flights non-stop

It's hard to get the saturday direct flight this time of year. not to mention expensive.

LBI, I booked with delta back on july 5th for EWR-BZE december 22 return jan 3rd @ $ 507pp. Another trip feb 23 on USAIR booked a few weeks ago EWR-BZE @ around $535pp. Also try kayak.com

all those "assist" sites are great, and give you a feel for rates. But, I've alwaysg gotten the best deals booking directly on CO. ( Hotwire,not withstanding, if ya a gambler)

And, on many booking sites, yuo won't get the FF miles to help take care of a future BZ trip

I booked a flight to Lisbon, Portugal for May and got a hell of a deal on a CO flight on Sidestep which asked for FF affiliation. I compared directly with CO site (we are accumulating miles for a RT to Morocco in 2007) and Sidestep blew CO's site out of the water. It's a real mystery to me how these things work.

I also learned that if you frequent sites, you should clear the cookies after you query a flight. Often, if the prices drop, you will not see the best fares.
