We've been to Ambergris Cay and have chartered out of San Pedro already. Much as we loved the island and sailing in that area, we are thinking of chartering out of Placencia this time after spending some time on A.C..

Has anyone chartered from Placencia? Would love to hear your experiences? The best islands for snorkeling, etc.? And is there any place to provision down there?

Not as great a variety for provisioning down there as on San Pedro or Belize city. Moorings, TMM and www.sailingbelize.com all charter out of Placencia. Spectacular coral encrusted islands down that way and think Placencia and south to Sapodilla cayes (Hunting, Lime, Franks, etc)is about the best along the reef.
