The pickings are slim....having researched this extensively and with pharmaceutical acumen, next to nada...definately nowhere near Mexico. I am, however, referring to nonantibiotic phx's as in pain control meds. In this respect the only thing sometimes found is a codeine laced derivative or a generic muscle relaxant.

Yes you can, just bring an old prescription from the U.S. to be sure.

You can get just about any standard prescription medicine "over the counter" in Brodies, Freetown Drug Store etc. in Belize City and you can get quite a selection here on the island as well.

Antibiotics like Cipro are also available in generic form here at much lower prices than in the USA.

What about allergy medicines? Are they cheaper in AC?

where did you look sanb?

Yes, you get your meds here without prescription and there are many that you would get in the stats.

Crayon, do you mean prescription or OTC allegry meds? For some reason OTCs seem to be more expensive. All cold and flu meds forsure are and I get mine in the states. Prescriptions are cheaper. You can get most things here.

Yes Kra-Z-K, I meant prescription meds. The OTC stuff tends to be a bit more pricey. Thank you.

Sorry, I edited my initial response to specific incidents.
I found myself in need of an oxycontin/hydrocodone like product-even through one of the great MD's there, and with a wife who is a long standing OR nurse, could not offer up/find anything similar...let alone provide same over-the counter...I was not referencing other less specialized/limited (?) phx's.... smile

Thanks for the responses. So where in San Pedro, what drug store do I go. Coming down in March. Really like to have the Cipro on hand.

there are at least 15 pharmacies that I know of, so you will find them if they have that one. Most have the same as others.

Yes, they have birth control pills here.
