Diane, my Dad was Native American and I'm aware of what has happened, including my family being listed on the Trail of Tears rolls. I don't think this was meant to insult anyone, but rather a "tongue in cheek" cartoon, depicting that history is facing a chance to repeat itself if things continue as they are. Perhaps the current immigrants don't want to do what the English did, but the opportunity is there. I think the earlier immigrants just wanted to find a better life. Once it was discovered that the Native Americans were gentle, peace loving people, it became easy for the immigrants to take what they wanted from them without much repercussions. If we don't do something now to impede the immigration situation, what's to say it wont' happen again? I'm all for people coming in to the US, get a job and support your families and get that better life. But, do it legally, peacefully, and appreciate the opportunities. But, thanks for the support for the Native Americans. It is appreciated.
