PalapaBob - just to go back to the opening for a moment,Chavez could make that speech anywhere, after all most of what he said were variations of the same talking points heard from the Dems for the past 5 years, he just added a little color. Got to admit he is probably the "King of the Cons" at present and he will surely be around after GWB is gone but that makes him no less of a buffoon. Rangel, J.Jackson, Ted Turner, Harry Reid, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schummer, and the rest of the ilk say the same things on a daily basis but with a little less flare. And the fact that he is an "outsider"? means nothing! Between the Dems and the Media the rest of the world knows nothing else(except of course for SIN and he knows everything). Listen to the Ameadena****/Cooper interview yesterday. He couldn't believe that the questions Cooper was asking him weren't "arranged" by the government. Pathetic. let me just say further....ah....never mind. :p

I'm willing to let Venezuela (or Iran or Sudan or, for that matter, Belize...heck, even Cuba) have the UN. Let them try to collect the parking fines for a while.

Nice to hear from Charlie today: (memo to Charlie, women got the right to vote many years ago) RANGEL: We are deeply appreciative to the Venezuelan government, and this is so because we buy millions of barrels a day, the United States, and it just seems to me that those that supply us that are sensitive to the higher price and the ability of the poor to meet it, that the United States oil firms ought to take a page from the Venezuelan book and do the same thing.
RANGEL: I want president Chavez to please understand that even though many people in the United States are critical of our president, that we resent the fact that he would come to the United States and criticize President Bush. He has to understand that while we have problems politically sometimes with President Bush, that we -- he is still our president, and that we resent foreigners coming and condemning our president.
RANGEL: Even though I'm fully aware that he and President Bush enjoy these personal attacks on each other, they can do politically what they see fit to do, but you don't come into my country, you don't come into my congressional district, and you don't condemn my president. If there's any criticism of President Bush, it should be restricted to Americans whether he voted for him or not.
I've already told you more than I know.
