will stay on the air 24/day until the threat is over or the power goes
off, whichever comes first. Jim explained that NEMO orders the power
and water shut off when the storm gets close, due to potential wires
down and broken pipes.

Milo just reported on Reef Radio that as of about 3PM Maya Island had evacuated 724 people, Tropic had hauled about 750 pax, and the Caye Caulker Water Taxis had transported 3,900. The 2 airlines will fly until about 6PM and are keeping up with demand. The water taxis have about 100 people in line and will run until 4PM with 4-5 boats yet to arrive.

Reef Radio just concluded an hour-long discussion with Jim Janmohammed
of NEMO, Manuel Heredia Area Rep., the mayor, and several others. Jim
says that the water taxis and planes moved 9000 people off the island
today. Many others went on other boats. There are police and armed BDF
patroling both here and north of the river on golf carts. They want
everyone to stay home and keep their kids home tonight so as to avoid
problems for the patrols. They expect rough seas on the front side
tomorrow AM.
