Hi, Our house is Casa Plata, south of Victoria. Don't know if you are building or have an existing house. We have used several means of shipping things over the past 17 yrs. The airlines have become much more restrictive, so we now send things down thru the shipping lines. If you are considering shipping appliances, would suggest you look into a brand you can buy on the island. After going thru several refrigerators, (rust) we bought a Mabe (Mexican brand). It is all plastic and after two yrs. still looks brand new. If you are getting residency you have a yr. to ship duty free of course. If you have any specific questions our email is [email protected]

Good questions! Are there any storage places on A/C?

None to our knowledge. We could have stored our stuff in Belize City but our shippers recommended to store it back home until we were ready for it. As soon as we had a house we had it shipped and it was here (from the UK) in around 4 weeks.

I stumbled on a website http://wwwbelizereport.com/info/perpturist.html that may be helpful. Maybe you have found it too but I was surprised at the legislation of The Retired Persons Act.
hope it helps.

I drove my Truck down. (3 times). Slept in a tent (2 years). And had a lot of good friends show me Belize as it REALLY is. Didn't swim in the sea once during that time. But the rivers? Ahhh.
