Is it confirmed that the "residency law" in BZ has been extended to 1 full year on AC???

Don't think I understand the question. It has been a requirement for a long time that to apply for regular residency one must reside in Belize for a year, only leaving the country for up to 14 days. Under the Qualified Retired Persons Incentive Act, and a couple of other programs, that requirement is waived.

Hi Rick and Cheri: I think that the 6 months might be for when the price of the monthly passport stamp goes up 100% (from $12.50 to $25US) a month. I think that it has always been 1 year more or less continued residence in Belize. This doesn't apply for the Retirement Residency Program and, I don't believe, for Residency in conjunction with Business Ownership. I understand that having an "advocate" in Belopan make things easier, if not cheaper.

The residency waiver for business owners went out with the last administration. As with most things here, things change with the political party. There was an "Economic Citizenship Program", which I think has since been eliminated also, where for a mere $50,000 USD contribution to the Government of Belize, you would be granted immediate citizenship, complete with a new passport, but I as I said, I believe that was eliminated also. I agree an advocate in Belmopan makes things easier and cheaper.
