Hi all, I am a 25 year old electrical engineer and I love to travel and love the beach.... of all the places in the world belize has me interested as a place to spend 6-7 months a year... most of my work I can do online and I have a satellite connection, so that's not a problem.. my question is, if I were to build a few non-invasive houses or condos on someplace like long island caye.. and rent them out some to my friends from the states, would that be considered disrespectful? Some islands I have visited in the pacific seem to look down on this and do not want americans building there.. I could see no reason the locals would not want an added amount of tourist dollars, but I just thought I'd ask people that would know better than I.... Also any suggestions as to location would be much appreciated... Thank you
