Does anyone know approximately what it costs to install a medium sized swimming pool (inground) and if it feasible to maintain it? We are building a single family home to start with and would like to have a pool eventually as we intend to add more units for rental. We will have a full time on-site caretaker. I just wonder about availablility of pool chemicals, etc. Are there problems during the dry season when you would need to add water to the pool? Csn you use the well water, or would we need to install a reverse osmosis desal system?
The plan is to have several small rental cabins and I think a pool would be a good addition since not all the cabins can be beachfront. Our property is deep front to back (beach to lagoon) about 2 1/2 miles north.

One of the "hidden" costs of a pool in Belize is the electricity for running filters and such. If you can build it in such a way as to minimize the use of high-cost electricity, that would be a plus.

Ok everyone, no need to spill the beans. I did find out who is putting in the pool in Tres Cocos and will check with the unnamed person when I'm down in November. Will invite you all to a pool party if I ever get one built myself.
