I'm a chef with 16 years experience, interested in securing a position on Ambergris Caye. I'm looking for any leads, information or web sites which may assist me in this endeavor.

Bien Venidos Chef Ty

You good at making black beans and rice? Add a little seafood on the side and you got it made! Don't expect too much dinero, and you might find something...Good luck with your new job on the cayes.

If you want to be taken seriously about working on AC, you first have to demonstrate that you will "last" once you move. If you want work here - live here a while and prove to the community that you have made the cultural adjustment before you go looking for a job. And when you do go looking, do it in person. Much more important than your cooking abilities are your adaptive and cultural ones. A good chef that has not been Belizeianized is likely to alienate the kitchen staff and food vendors and put the place under long before the word of the wonderful crepes gets out to the tourists.

Good advice Dianne....and very true.
Cooking is the easy part....adapting is the true test of your staying power.

I know Gaz Cooper was looking for somebody for his restaurant at Playa Blanca Dive and Beach Club. Not sure if it's been filled yet. Drop him a line at:
