Hi, Does anyone know an inexpensive way to get to Playa del Carmen or Cancun from AC? All I have found is going back to the States and then back down to Mexico and that is too expensive. Have some friends who stay in Playa Car and want to come for a visit. Thanks

don't know if this one will help or not,
but it seemed to have some tips. I typed Playa del Carmen in search

are you going there, or are you friends coming to AC?

If you are going from San Pedro, what I would do is either fly Tropic or Maya Island (less than half an hour) or take the Thunderbolt ferry (hour and a half) to Corozal Town. Then take a taxi or a Novelo's bus to Chetumal. Then take ADO bus to Playa, which is about 4 1/2 hours. With connections, and losing an hour in Mexico, it's pretty much a full-day trip. Not too expensive -- around US$40 to $75 depending on which transport you take.

They will be coming from Playa to AC. Thanks for all the info. We have visited there and although the beaches are nicer, nothing else there compares to AC.
