My Belizean husband and I live in Texas, but his son still lives on the Island. We have sent him gifts, clothes, etc. via FedEx, but each package costs about $250 to ship. Plus the customs folks charge about the cost of the items when it reaches Belize City.

We have heard about Onebin from an Island resident, but I am curious about any shipping from the States experiences you have had.

Info on Onebin or alternatives is appreciated.

From the U.K. to Belize on first class post(using the British postal service which goes via the U.S.) takes on average 7 days to San Pedro

a 15lb package on Fedex costs about 350.00US to ship to Belize from Houston.

Same package from ANYWHERE in the Continental USA using US Post Express Mail Service is just $80.00US.....AND it's quicker! Make sure your son has a telephone number...the Belize post office will call to inform the package has arrived.

Thanks for all the info. We mailed the package full of clothes, shoes, etc., on Monday. The USPS cost us $108 and they said it would be there in 3-4 days. The phone number is on the package. Now we'll see what happens!
