I had considered becomming a retiree in Belize ,and being a citizen .It seems this is not possible under the circumstances at present . Could I just move there to a rented apartment ,and leave every 6 nonths ( back to Canada or even just to Mexico )and return ..? What kind of visa do I need ? In Mexico this is how things work (sorta) I'm not familar with Belize laws (and enforcement of these laws).

Contact Belize Tourist Board for "Qualified Retirement Program" information.
Contact Immigration Department for other info.
Officials will be helpful if you give them a call (don't e-mail, they get too much of that already).
