U.S. Visa Applications Go Strictly Electronic

Depending on where you stand with computer and internet access, the application process to get a U.S. Visa is either being made easier or more difficult.

Today the U.S. State Department announced that effective November 1, all applications for non-immigrant visas to the U.S. will have to be done on an electronic application form available only on the internet. That means hand written applications will no longer be accepted.

For application forms those wishing to obtain a U.S. Visa will have to access this webpage. (http://evisaforms.state.gov/) Once you get there, it's straightforward as the site provides users step by step instructions on how to apply for the visas.

The Embassy states that as of August 2006 almost 51% of all U.S. Visa applications worldwide were submitted through the electronic system. By November first, this new initiative will make that 100% in Belize.
