Since we are about to get eight inches of snow here in KC, it seemed a good time for me to post our trip report and pix. Mrs. Jayhawk and I, along with our good friend Neighbor Dave, the pride of Cedar Falls, Iowa, spent eight days and nine nights on AC earlier this month and predictably had a great time fishing, snorkeling, cooking, eating, drinking, listening to great music, making new friends and getting reacquainted with old ones.

The pix will hopefully bear this out. I'm the one with the beard. Forgive all the sunrise shots, but I can't get enough of the beauty of sunrise on AC. One bad thing about getting up so early is that I tend to consume my first Belikin at an hour that would have me in rehab if I tried it back home. We heartily recommend Geraldo and Fido Badillo (El Gato) for snorkeling trips; we've used them the last two years and they are a delight. Ali and Elva at Canuck's made every stop there a pleasure; such friendly people. Don and Carol, the owners, are great as well, and try Lyon's beach barbeque. He's a great kid who really wants to make a living in food service; I hope he's still set up outside Canuck's most nights. Canuck's is a great place to spend a blackout!
Thanks, as well, to Charlene, Ernie, Ebbie, Oscar and Carlo at BC's. That place sets the standard for hospitality, and is a great place to meet local color, including folks from this board. This trip, we hooked up with Marty, Lara, Wonderwoman, Simon, Kerry and Pedro1 (that's his dog, Charlie, in the pix; she followed me home one night and was still there in the morning). Up north of the cut for the first time this year: great food from Kathy at Beachin Kitchen and a fun afternoon at Coco Loco's with Wonderwoman.
Too much fun stuff to recall; we're already talking "next time"!
