I would like to get some detailed tourism marketing information, demographics, trends, etc. for a possible business venture in SP. If anyone has a source for good information along this line I would appreciate the help. BTW, I already have the Belize Tourism.ORG info, what I am after is specific information about Ambergris Caye/San Pedro.

I assume you have the basic information on hotel occupancy rates (e.g. Ambergris Caye has a 48.6% annual occupancy rate)?

There have been a few studies done, though I'm not sure I'd make book based on any of them.

Your information is highly regarded and is already a valuable part of our data. We are looking for those other studies you are referring to, even if we may have to filter them to some degree. We are regular visitors to SP and the associated forums and want to relocate to SP. We have a fair amount of good advice collected from lots of great people, but want to make sure we are as well informed as possible with good business data before making the plunge. "Unprepared gringos and their money are soon parted" is a common theme we often hear. We would be happy to make half what we do here in the states, but we can't afford to go belly up, so we are being conservative with our projections.

Sandito, what is your business idea...or is it a secret for now?

If it is not tourist/building related-then you would be barmy to start a business here on AC as elsewhere in Belize it is half the price to operate a business.
Also I have never understood people asking other people their ideas getting dodgy info-if you are serious go ahead and do it-the trick is (as it is anywhere in the world) to stay out of the bars during your working hours-don't tell everyone how clever you are and finally work bloody hard
