We are right now having the time of our lives here on Caye Caulker. The best dive of my life was only yesterday. I swear if I die tomorrow my life is complete.

Paradise Down dive shop, recently opened with all new equipment. The latest of everything and the friendliest and most knowldegable staff. I have been diving here on the Caye for 12 years and they are my top pick. You owe it to yourself to dive with them.

Yesterday's dive was spectacular, visibility was 60+ and temperature was 80F in and out of the water. Started out with a huge loggerhead turtle sleeping in about 75 ft on the sand under a small ledge. Then over the coral canyons and a black tip reef shark appeared. It went on its way and we went on ours. Next was the piece d'resistance...A Hammerhead. Yep, no lie, 8ft. Scary but awesome. It was our first.

So my friends, though I cannot guarantee you will be as lucky, they sure know where to look. I still have an ear to ear grin.

Come on down.

I alas was on this wonderful dive. It turned out that by chance there were only four of us on board... Patti, Oj, Hunters and myself. I had just been certified a mere two days before by Ben Pierce, a great divemaster and teacher. We went on this dive and I, as a novice was so fortunate to have experienced such marine life. Call me blonde (!!) but I had no fear of the sharks or any other marine life we saw as we alas WERE in a "Protected marine reserve"!! HA HA

If you dive, do go to Paradise Down. They care and they do take care of you! All the way down to fully outfitting you. My dive bag did not make the trip the first two days but NO PROBLEM! The folks at PD took care of everything... Marybelle made sure all my equipment, including wetsuit (good idea even in warm water) were already on the boat and ready for me. In fact, next time I go I will not even bring my own gear as it is not necessary.. they have all new equipment available.

Safety is the key and you can feel secure and most of all have FUN!!!

I can only speak from experience....
