Very excited to be visiting the land of Caye Caulker next week!
My wife and I have a friend who grew up in Belize and moved to Brooklyn New York 25 years ago. His family still lives in Belize City and he visits them all the time. For years, he's been inviting us to visit his beautiful homeland. Finally, we've taken him up on the invitation, and this Saturday, we land in Belize City. Then Monday, we set sail,(well - not really a sail boat, a motor boat I guess - I'd rather take the seaplane but my wife is chicken) to Caye Caulker.
Man, we can't wait! Ever since we decided to go, I've been looking all over the internet and devouring any info I find about Belize and Caye Caulker. This site is my favorite. I've been to every link and I've been reading the message board for weeks. I'd love to meet some of the cool and fascinating people whose messages stand out on the board.
Tina - can we do lunch?
Mermaid Cap'n Diane - can I buy you a drink?
Wendy - dinner and dancing?
How about everyone at the same time? When was the last time all of you had dinner together? It would be my pleasure to meet all of you and dinner would be my treat - hey, I'm on vacation!
I read the excellent piece about Caye Caulker's history written by Ray Auxillou. (http://cayecaulker.org/history/
I bet it's more accurate than anything you could read anywhere else. It would be my privilige to meet Mr Auxillou too.
Whadda you guys say? Am I a just a pushy New Yorker with a lot of nerve or is it party time?
