Capt. Bill,
Websites are a business. 99.9 % of the time, you have to PAY to be listed. There are several websites on Caye Caulker, but I doubt any lists ALL the business on Caye Caulker.
Caye Caulker is primarily a "Mom & Pop" run kinda place, who don't spend extra money on advertising.... or even take reservations for that matter. They depend mostly on walk-ins. Because the facilities are small, usually this is enough business to survive, which is the bottom line for island folks (survival, not getting 'rich').
However, to be helpful,
BTIA (Belize Tourism Industry Association) has a website that lists business who pay a fee to be listed on this site; if you don't pay, you are not listed:
www.gocayecaulker.com BTB (Belize Tourism Board) also has a website and lists business who register with them ( they get a 7% 'hotel tax' from all the business listed!! ), plus registration fees and purchasing of their registration books etc...
Like the Gestapo, if you provide accommodations and don't register with them (pay the 7% 'TAX') they come after you (threaten to take you to court or SUE you)!
www.travelbelize.org Then there is this website where the message board is found:
www.cayecaulker.org And
www.cybercayecaulker.com ; which is also a business. While they list as many places as they can, only the ones with active links have paid an annual fee.
And the BTIA website knockoff or imitation (check out the NAME!): ww.gocayecaulker.net
which is done by the newest settlers (investors) on the island - the expats from America, Canada, Cayman....
