Coming for 6 nights in November and have narrowed my choices to Chocolate's or Tree Tops. Looking for a clean room, near the beach, and with access to diving and restaurants (which I guess isn't hard to find on such a small island). Anyone have a recommendation of the two??

I am also planning a trip to Belize in Nov and have been surfing on and off for months and both establishments get good grades on a number of message boards. I wanted to stay with Chocolate but they were booked for my dates. I am sure you will not go wrong with either. -lc

treetops has now opened their first floor. Whereas chocolate has the convenience of the split and beach area, treetops will probably be available and is more secluded/tucked away for those who enjoy their privacy.

You might also want to consider a stay at the Auxillou Beach Suites (www.auxilloubeachsuites.com). These are really nice one-bedroom suites, fifty feet or so from the sea, centrally located, fully a/c, kitchenette, living / dining area.
I believe the first floor at Treetops is now open. I stay at Treetops everytime I come and find Doris and Terry very personable and great hosts. Personally, I wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island.

yes brian but have you stayed anywhere else on the island or seen any other hotel room to make a judgement call? i'm sure tree tops is nice. so are the hotels and owners of most of the other hotels on the island.
