Hi,

Coming to Caye Caulker for three months at the end of the year for some R and R and hope to do plenty of fishing. I intend to go out with the local guides but this gets a little expensive for the full three months.

Does anyone know if small boats are available for rental?

Regarding the fishing, just pick up a fishing line, hook, and a weight from Chan's Supermarket (under $5 US), pick up some bait from Eloy or Roque Badillo, rent a kayak from one of the several places that do so ($5 - $10 U.S. per hour), and you are on your own - half day fishing trip at your schedule. Other than that, you might try some evening fishing at the Split, or even off the docks.

You can catch bonefish in the flats from the shore in the south.Wendy's grandma used to make fish balls with them because they are so plenty.You blacken both sides on a fire and shred out the meat with a fork. Form into balls with flour and season and fry.

I am staying in a beach hut (Coconut Grove) for the three months so I am know looking for activiites to fill my sunny days and keep me out of the bars!

Can you recommend a fishing guide in town?
