We're planning a trip down the third week of January. We don't know anyone who's ever been to Belize; all we've learned has been from books, net, etc. CC sounds the laid-back place for us to hang with our seven month old son and thaw out from the MN winter for a week. Can we expect warm, usually dry weather? kid-accepting places to grab a beer, dinner? bugs? a place to hang out in the sand with a little tyke? Thanks for any info.

Warm and kid friendly. Come enjoy. What, the kid wants bugs, sorry.

I also go to CC every year to thaw out from the Minneapolis winter. If you are looking for white sand beaches like Cancun you will not find them on CC. The island has plenty of other things to keep you and the litle one busy and allow you to relax. See you down there.
