Does anyone know if it is difficult for Belizean citizens to get permit/VISAS to go to European countries for visiting?

Thanks,

If you intend to travel to one or several of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and/or Sweden, you may apply for a Schengen visa. Then you may travel for up to 90 days for tourist purposes. You will have to obtain your Schengen visa from the Embassy/Consulate of the country of your main destination. If your main destination cannot be ascertained, the country you first enter is responsible for granting a visa. For countries not mentioned above, other rules may apply.

You will need to show proof of sufficient means of support during your travel, e.g. bank statements, proof of income, or an invitation letter or sponsorship declaration from relatives/friends in a Schengen country.

I wish you good luck!

tourist visas usually take a long time to process. The US for example, the wait can be up to a year. European countries may take a bit less time since their visa guidelines tend to be less strict than the US. Check with the country's consulate for more information.

The process of getting the Schengen visa normally takes between 1 to 2 months. However, Europe is getting more strict as well, as they have experienced that many people don't have the intention to leave after the visa expires. I would advise you to contact the embassy of the country you are going to. They can give you more accurate information.

Where exactly are you planning to go and when? :-)

Hi,

I assume a passport is necessary too. How long does it take to obtain a passport? The cost for it? Where is the best place to get one?

Thanks in advance,

You will need a passport in order to apply for a visa. Go to the passport office in Belice City. I believe the cost is around 80 belizian dollars, and it takes about 2 weeks to receive.

Hi, Belize It!
You also have to get your visa application from the country's consulate which you plan to visit.
When your visa is approved, you get a stamp in your passport that allows you entry into the country. The visa will have a date stamp (example 30 days, 60 days, 90, etc). In most cases you'll have to show proof of round trip travel when you check in w/immigration at the port of entry.
