BREAKING NEWS 10/28/05
Ellis is getting his FINAL SURGERY!
Through the tireless efforts of Ellis, his friends, family and the good people of Caye Caulker and from all over the world, Ellis' arm will be repaired.
Over the past 6 months, we have been very worried that the final surgery to repair Ellis' tendons and nerves would never happen. We knew it would cost upwards of $25,000US.
A few months ago, Ellis received word that the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, KY, USA is going to donate the surgery. The Kleinert Institute is one of the premier nonprofit education and research organizations specializing in hand and wrist injuries.
The hospital with which the Kleinert Institute is affiliated Jewish Hospital Hand & Microsurgery Institute has donated his hospital stay and post-surgery therapy.
Ellis wishes to thank these two organizations in advance. He would also like to thank all the people, from the Caye and from around the world that donated to his cause.
There has been considerable money raised so far, and it is now going towards the upcoming trip to Louisville. Stay tuned for announcements of upcoming raffles.
Thank you for your continued support!
