I am thinking of coming for a while [a few months or longer]. I have been researching and see that the average hotel will cost me about $20 a night. How much would you suggest I need in spending money per day for meals and other necessities? are there odd jobs to be had on the island to kill boredom and earn spare change? I read that the personal happiness factor there was very high and I could definitely use some of that. Feel free to email me if you have any good advice I should be aware of.

Take note that you need to have a work permit to work in Belize if you are not a local. If you leave your e-mail address, I am sure you will get some good advice from people who live on the island.

Good luck and enjoy Belize--
