There are two organizations that have been formed in Belize.

Belize National Association of Realtors is one of them.

This was taken from the Topic Getting There.

Realtors get together to form Association

Friday, 24 November 2006

Representatives from nine prominent real estate organisations throughout Belize earlier have met in Belize City to finalise the formation of a real estate association.

On November 10, 2006, the Belize National Association of Realtors ? (BNAR?) was officially incorporated as a non-profit organisation. The Government of Belize is expected to follow through with the passing of a Real Estate Act.

The primary mission of the Belize National Association of Realtors? is to provide a facility for education, research and exchange of information for those engaged in the recognised branches of the real estate business, includ-ing brokerage, management, mortgage financing, ap-praising, counseling, land development, building, education and research in real estate in Belize, for the purpose of raising the standards of real estate practice and preserving the right of property ownership in the interest of the public.

Members of the Belize National Association of Realtors? will be required to adopt and adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and standards of business practice.

A workshop will be held at a date and place to be announced within the next two weeks in order to inform stakeholders in the real estate business about the benefits of becoming a member.

Persons interested in becoming members and wishing to receive additional information about the upcoming workshop can contact us by telephone at: 501-670-4045.

The founding members of the new Association of Realtors are Alpha and Omega International, Realty & Consultants, AME Development, IVORR Company Ltd., Castle Realty, Belize Realty Connection, Ambergris Seaside Real Estate, Rainforest Realty, Paradise Found Belize, and Think Belize.

The Reporter.

The term REALTOR is copyright. To carry the Logo you must belong to an Associations affiliated with NAR (National Association of Realtors) in the US. BNAR is doing this.

Many are using it,"REALTOR", as you are correct Sir Isaac. The bill currently being worked on will require another "license" to sell real estate.

It also covers escrow and property management among other items.

The Association is subscribing to procedures and ethics held as as standard by NAR.

That's because the vast majority of other real estate brokers, agencies, developers, attorneys, surveyors and architectural firms are with the other association.

The Association of Realtors and Developers of Belize has been busy working on the bill amendments as well as the sucessful lobbying of the government to have the transfer stamp duty reduced to 5% etc. Once the urgent business of the reading and passing of the legislation is completed the association will work on some PR.
