Can anyone tell me about the smaller cayes? I'm wondering about boat trips to St Georges Caye, Sergant's Caye, or Goff's caye. Can I get a report from anyone whose visited those?

I really enjoyed my trip to St George's Caye. Took a water taxi via the Bellevue Hotel (they own a resort on the Caye).

St. George's Caye has homes on it, where Belizeans have their island home. Sargent's and Goff's Caye are beautiful little cayes in the middle of nowhere. If you are coming out of Belize City, I suggest contacting Hugh Parkey. He has a dive operation out of the Radisson and he and his wife on Fort Street Guest House in Belize City. Another place that may be able to do a day trip is Spanish Bay Resort, located on Spanish Lookout Caye. Their office is on Front Street in Belize City.

We went snorkling at Sargent's Caye and it was the best day of our trip. It's a ways out... about 40 miles(?), but well worth the boat ride. Most tours incorporate visits to the smaller cayes with a trip to Caye Caulker or other stops, so the boat ride doesn't seem so lengthy. Sargent's Caye is just a plot of sand, about 3/4 of an acre, and if you go with a small group you are left feeling like you're at the end of the world. It is incredible! We went with Ricky of Excalibur Tours who was very knowlegeable about the history of the smaller cayes. We even swam with a stray manatee. When we visit again we will definitely spend more time exploring the smaller outer cayes.
