Hello!! I'm new to this forum and have a couple of questions...this will be our first time traveling to Belize although we are seasoned travelers to Mexico, mainly Akumal. We have planned our trip for August and will be staying at De Real Macaw. Super excited!! I found an adventure w/ Hicaco, they'll take you to Goff's Caye to camp for one night. I was just wondering if anyone has done this or has heard about it. Also, are the sand flys bad in August?

I have camped overnite on Goffs Caye, but not with Hicaco so I dont know what they offer. Their is a great trip offerd by Ragimuffin Tour here on Caye Caulker. Its a 3 day 3 nite trip on a sailboat. Excellent time. You will sail. stopping for lunch and snorkling, the first night is spent on Goffs,Tents, showers are provided. The crew cooks all meals for you,also a bar is set up at night and usually great conch cerviche. The 2nd nite is spent on Tobaco Caye one of our favorite places, and the trip ends up in Placencia a great Village, Sand fleas come and go, depending on the weather, rain etc,they are seldom a problem at nite on Goffs as their is usually a good breeze going.

Me again, I just checked out That site on Hicaco tours, I would say it would be hard not to have a good time on that trip,

Took the Raggamuffin 3 day tour in 04. Spent the first nite on Rendevous island and the 2nd nite at Tobacco Caye.
Great trip with lots of great folks! My friend and i were the only US people on that trip mostly Europeans and a couple Canadians.
Well worth the 250US at that time.
Plenty of Rum Punch too!
