Can someone tell me what the best and/or cheapest way to get to Placencia from Ambergris Caye is?

bus to belmopan-bus to placencia-it is a long days travel at a guess 10 hours-otherwise go by plane Maya are offering 30% off flights

how long does the 30% discount last? is it available from intl or just muni?

Where do you find the "specials" ? I saw no sign of any on Mayan Air's web site.

The *best* way, as far as enjoyable, fun, creative, would be to sail with Raggamuffin from Caye Caulker, island hopping and snorkeling and fishing for 3 days. At US$300 it's not the cheapest or fastest way though.

From Belize City rent a car and drive to Placencia, it is a beautiful trip and well worth the cost of a rental car. Besides once in Placencia a car is a nice thing to have as locations to places are a little more spread out than AC. A trip by car is also MUCH quicker than by bus.

I think the Maya Air special is for cash only in person purchases. Not sure how long it will be going on.

Considering the condition of the road to Placencia, I would not waqnt to drive it unless it was the only available option. The road is very bad now with all the rain.

The last 20 miles or so can be bad, but if you drive slow at that point I feel it's well worth it. The Hummingbird is paved and in good shape (also very beautiful).
