I know this has been asked before but what do people think about taking the water taxi to San pedro from Belize City. We arrive at 2:55pm and it looks like the last taxi is 4:30. Do you think we would have time to make it? There will be 6 of us with 2 bags each. Can you make reservations in advance? Any help would be apreciated.

its going to be a tough call if you can make it. if you are off the plane last, the customs line is long, and then you have to wait for your bags. you'll need to get a taxi...and on and on. net net, doubt you'll make it.

i prefer to fly. you're on vacation....enjoy it. if there are 6 of you, its much cheaper to get a cab to take you to municple airport, the flights are MUCH cheaper flying out of municiple than out of goldson international.

I second Lara's motion! But do make a reservation from the muni airport. The late flights do tend to get filled up. Airfare from Muni is half the price of that from International. Be sure and get a van type cab and ask the price for the extra passengers. With two pieces of luggage each it should not be a problem -- unless you forgot to mention that you each would have a carry on and personal bag (like a back pack). Then it mike take two taxi's but still worth it.
THEN - take the water taxi from San Pedro back to Belize City. I enjoy the ride and the people on the ride. This costs half the price of the plane to muni.

we arrived at 230pm on our first trip and we made it to the last water taxi....but u never know...

Bon... good idea to take the flight over... You'll also end up wanting to stay as long as possible on AC... skip the boat back... take the plane.
