Sending a big shout out to all the board members who made both valentines parties a huge success.
The kids party was fabulous and each kid got a funky pencil, a valentine card or 2 and a few pieces of candy. After that was handed out in the classrooms the kids took turns in the bouncy tents. They also did onion sac races and enjoyed some lovely fresh baked scones.
We then proceeded over to the landing area for our skydiving show.
The kids were in awe as they watched the skydivers fall from the sky. Upon landing the skydivers got swarmed by excited kids wanting to give hugs and see them up close. It was quite a sight. Afterwards the kids learned how a parachute works and got to see it all packed back up step by step (thanks Reaper).
Thanks to everyone who made this possible with your valentines, candy, baking, taxi donations, time and school supplies.
We had 2 wheel-barrows full of school supplies to take across the bridge cheers to all the board members and the skydivers.
Now onto the pajama party....
I am happy to report that 20-25 people showed up in their pajamas. We had a great night. Poker was played, the pool and foozeball tables had lots action. A few drinks were bought by non pajama wearers and the pajama people were a hit as they showed off their fabulous sleep wear. (I also learned that 80% of people do not wear pj's ha ha.)
Islenutt and Gailtor brought some Mardi-gras heart beads and some cute heart straws. A few others brought chocolates to share. We had some lollys and colorful napkins from DCG, and a few valentines from the bunch (so you were all there in spirit)
I even got a report yesterday from 1beekeper that she saw someone walking around town in their pajamas later that evening near cannibals.
Thanks to Pedro for hosting the event and the best garlic shrimp pizza.
