Thanks for the other feedback. I saw the info that the beaches have the grass. Are there any that you can swim into from the sand or are they all like this? Is it better to take a boat to the cayes or a plane? Which is less expensive? If I do one tour which is the best? To Honduras or Guatemala? Does anyone know what the weather is like in August? Thank You. YEAH LAKERS!!

You can swim anywhere off the beach, the grass doesn't stop anyone, some people just think it's icky.
Plane more money little time.
Boat little money more time.
If you are trying to save money see a Belize Mayan Ruin not Honduras or Guatemala, it will be much cheaper.
Belize it!

The sea grass is not a real problem, you can always find an area where they have cleared it, and they continue working hard to keep open areas for the swimmers. One can always swim off the piers/docks where the water is alittle deeper. Good area to practice your snorkeling is under Ramons pier, where they have started a reef, and it has attracted quite afew fish.
