Next year we are planning to go to Belize. we've narrowed the search down to Captain Morgan's Vacation Beach Club or Costa Maya Reef Resort. We like to snokel and lay on the beach but we are looking for great accomodations. nice rooms, great service, food, closeness to the beach, condition of the beach (do they clean up grass on the beach daily).

Has anyone stayed at either location? Can you give me feedback?

Do you know where I can get this info?

Thanks for any help on this subject. You can email me direct.

I am not a fan of either, however I am sure you will enjoy yourself either at resort. I would not choose Capt Morgans but it is all personal opinion.

My guess is that he is trading his timeshare points, and that is why he has chosen these two resorts specifically. Just a hunch, though! smile

Neither resort offers GREAT service. The location of Costa Maya is great for snorkelers as it sits in front of Mexico Rocks. Killer snorkeling. Both are a ways from town, so the town experience can be a minor issue with some. The accomodations are Capt. Morgan's is 100% superior to Costa Maya. Both properties continue to struggle with their F&B programs. Captain Morgan's offers great restaurants close by, walking distance, while Costa Maya is a bit secluded.

Hope this helps a bit.

Both have nice beaches which are kept clean. Some rooms at Capt. Morgans are nice some are well worn, all are on beach.
Totally agree with SIN.

And if you time your visit carefully (say any time in the second half of the year) Pedro sports both his own private lake with copious wildlife and a beach. Unusually, access to the bar is THROUGH the lake, but that just adds to the fun!
