We are coming in May and I wanted to know what food can be brought into Belize? I noticed someone mentioned steaks? Do they allow you to bring in meat? And do the grocery store's carry a variety of food?

Thanks for your help,

no beef, no chicken, no cheese, no pork, no fruits, no vegetables.

the grocery stores generally speaking, carry everything you need. Contact SimonB on this board for more specifics as he offers a FANTASTIC service that will do all the shopping for you, and will even put the stuff in your room for you when you arrive.

the thing with the stores here though, is that you LITERALLY will go to no less than half dozen stores just to get one weeks groceries. Let Simon do the work for you. He's not a bad person either smile

Amen...unless you're staying for an extended time....Last thing you'll want to do is grocery shop once you get there....let Simon do the work.

Agreed 100% with his service and himself.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Is oatmeal ok?

We typically bring outmeal on trips so that everyone can have a bowl before we head out for the day.

Quaker oatmeal in every store...but bring if you don't mind hauling.

Excellent. That means we just have to bring enough for the first morning and we can buy the rest.

Santiago Castillo (local bulk store) was selling quaker oatmeal in bulk (3 boxes together)

I do not remember the exact price but it was a good deal. You could always give extra away at the end of trip.
