Which area of these two do you think to be better place to build a house in the medium future?

What about Palmero Point?

Thank you.

Palm Bay is a great location. My sister just picked up a piece there on the beach for $55k. I know of a couple more beach sites for under $60k and a great piece in front of a park for $39.

Palm Bay is so cool. When you go to town, you go to Xcalak, fifteen minutes away. An authentic little Mexican fishing village.

I am glad that I found this forum. I signed a contract on a piece of property in Palm Bay Club in 1993. I made payments until about 1997 when I paid off my land and got the deed that I was the owner.

When the land first was offered back in the early 1990s the sellers gave us buyers all kinds of glowing predictions about an airport going in soon and a road being built in the north. Those things never materialized and the land just sat there for many years.

I held onto my piece of property knowing that someday things would start happening. It seems that in the last couple of years more and more web sites have appeared talking about Palm Bay Club and also more and more agents are offering the land for sale.

I can not tell you how relieved I am to see this. I would like to know if the land has been selling well in Palm Bay Club and I would appreciate hearing more good things about the property development up there. I would think that Palm Bay Club property would sell very well to divers who want to retire there and enjoy the spectacular diving that is found there.

In a book by Glenn Godfrey, who was a Belizean Minister, entitled: AMBERGRIS CAYE: PARADISE WITH A PAST, he describes the Boca Bacalar as follows:

"Though abandoned by the Maya, Ambergris Caye did not remain uninhabited for long. By the beginning of the 17th Century, English, French and Dutch pirates were attacking the ships and towns of the Spanish Empire in the New World. These pirates needed remote retreats and safe harbors where they could care for their boats, rest their crews, hide their treasure, and obtain food and water for their next raid. Ambergris Caye probably served such a purpose. It was, like Cayo Cosina (later to be known as Saint George's Caye) a place where fresh water and food were readily obtained in good supply. The discovery of small treasure troves on the island and of gold coins washed upon the beach together with old bottles suggest that the island was visited often and its abundant resources utilized."

WOW !!! GOLD, ABUNDANT FOOD AND WATER NEAR BOCA BACALAR !!!

So can someone tell me how accessible pure drinking water and cheap organic food is near or on the Palm Bay Club property. Is it right there or are these two important commodities difficult to acquire there? Thanks, ELDORADO-777

Fresh water is collected off the roof into a cistern. A shallow well will supply water for much of the year. Best food supply will be in Xcalac...a short boat trip inside the reef.
