Hi everyone
I know we will have to spend a night to do this. I could use some experience about how to use ground transportation to get to Tikal ruins. I would like to inexpensivly get to a resort near Tikal, see some of the ruins that day and then get up the next morning to do the sunup (we are crazy, see the mist around the structures, maybe wildlife and very few visitors)tour around the ruins before we leave to get back to AC. If anyone can refer me to their visits,places they liked,good cheap transportation, I would really appreciate it. I'm starting to think that by spending two nights we can do more and not be held to such a schedule. No we do not want to rent a car this time.

I think you are going to have to spend 2 nights on the mainland to do this by bus. One going, and one on the return. Last boat to the island is at 4PM-ish and last flight is at 5:30 (except on Saturday where there is now an 8:30PM flight from the Int'l). I don't think you can make it back from Tikal in time to catch any of them (except maybe the Saturday 8:30)

we were looking at staying in caye caulker for 8 days and going to tikal for the last 2 of our trip but we are looking at ambergris cayes now, does any one have advise about which is better or should we try and do both? i know you can boat to caye caulker from belize city, is there a boat to ambeergris cayes as well from belize city? how about a boat from caye caulker to ambergris?? thanks for the help!
