Thanks for all the information on to my previous topic. All the information posted should make our trip ebven more enjoyable, thanks again.

One final question before we leave for Belize tomorrow. Are Cuban cigars available on AC? I don't recall anyone mentioning cigars at all in any previous postings. If they are, where could I find them?

Thanks again!

Cuban cigars are available in San Pedro. I'm not sure where the best place to buy them is. I've bought them at a little shop on Middle Street (Pescador Dr.). Expensive, but good.

the travellers liquor store on middle street has probably the best selection, plus tasty rum and other goodies to try.

I checked with US Customs 619-690-8800 about bringing back Cuban Cigars for personal use.
here's the deal. If it states on the cigar wrapper or packaging that it is made in or a product of Cuba /Havana etc. it is illegal to bring into the US. However technically, if the cigar has cuban tobacco but manufactured in a location other than Cuban it is legal. US inspector said they are "on to" wrapper removal. So, there is a fine for wrapper removal.

Up to 100 cigars is considered personal use per Customs.

This sounds like the jive the local CUBAN CIGAR store tells. Cuban seeds grown in Honduras, via similar cuban sunlight, but rolled in the US.. are actually the same quality as Cuban Cigars....yeah right. I'm not knockin' Honduras cigars... But....

My husband and a friend bought some Cuban cigars in the airport at Belize City before we went over to the island and said the price wasn't bad and the cigars were good. You may want to try that. The ones they got in San Pedro, while good cigars, were more expensive and the selection wasn't as good.
We bought and brought back Cubans from Italy earlier this year. The wrapper stayed on but the tubes they were in got left behind and we had no problem at all. So who knows?
