I checked with US Customs 619-690-8800 about bringing back Cuban Cigars for personal use.
here's the deal. If it states on the cigar wrapper or packaging that it is made in or a product of Cuba /Havana etc. it is illegal to bring into the US. However technically, if the cigar has cuban tobacco but manufactured in a location other than Cuban it is legal. US inspector said they are "on to" wrapper removal. So, there is a fine for wrapper removal.
Up to 100 cigars is considered personal use per Customs.
This sounds like the jive the local CUBAN CIGAR store tells. Cuban seeds grown in Honduras, via similar cuban sunlight, but rolled in the US.. are actually the same quality as Cuban Cigars....yeah right. I'm not knockin' Honduras cigars... But....
