Hello All,
I will be visiting San Pedro in July for 10 days and this is my first trip. I will be traveling with my 16 year old son. We are looking at staying at The Palms. It seems to be close to town, resturants, entertainment etc...which would be nice for me and my son.
Can anyone give me their opinion of The Palms and are there any teen events anywhere on the island. Needless to say, he will want to "teen time" that will not include Mom!
Thanks for your help. Can't wait!

Do a search and you will find nothing but good comments on The Palms. It is an exceptionally nice place in a great location.

Units were very nice, perfect location - you can walk to anything - especially downtown where there's many restaurants and live bands. The grocery store is just a short walk the other way.
You can practically walk across the street from the aiport to The Palms.
Also, in front of the Holiday Hotel, there's hobie-cat rentals, windsurfing lessons, etc.

The Palms is great. We've stayed there several times while our condo was being built. Extremely well kept and staffed by an excellent group of friendly employees.
I'm happier than a pig in s__t...a foot on the sand...and a Belikin in my hand!

Have also stayed several times at the Palms and loved it.Location is super, staff very helpful. great rooms and well equipped kitchens and great view right out front. Don't worry about (noise) closeness to airport, you won't notice. Can't wait to get back.

I'm actually writing this from The Palms as we speak... It's terrific... A little maintenance problem with the shower, but they took care of it quickly. The location can't be beat and the view and staff are great.

Thank you all for your great responses! I guess we will be staying at The Palms!
Deadserious - how are the beaches? Can you swim in the water off of The Palms beach? Is there a lot of sea grass?

There is a lot of sea grass. The pier next door at Ramon's had a lot of kids swimming off it today though and I guess it's open to the public in the morning and early afternoon. I'd recommend going there or using the pool here. The pool is great, though you get dive-bombed with bats at night. I think it's great but my wife was a bit nervous.

Now that everyone has said such great things about The Palms, how about Xanadu? I know that Xanadu is a mile South of town? How do they compare? All of the hotels seem very nice, can I really go wrong with either one? The Xanadu provides kayaks, canoes and bikes for the guest.
