Hi, I'm planning a trip to ac in Jan. Need info on beer and liquor avalability(brands and pricing). I hear the food is great! My intent is to lay on the beach and drink and just chill out in general. Also, San Pedro seems crowded. Are there any remote locations one might reach to maybe lay out topless. What are the laws regarding that?

Just got back from San Pedro - Try and buy some liquor at the duty free when you land in Belize City - good prices. They were closed when we arrived but we sure bought some on the way back! Also we bought our beer (and pop) by the case directly from the distributor in San Pedro (right across from the "big" supermarket) - much better buy. Get to know your rum drinks! Local rum is cheap and good. Have a blast!

The main reason I'm going to a/c, is the Jerry Jeff Walker fan club outing. Anyone out there ever been to this event? Any info on this would be appreciated. Really looking forward to it!

Hi!
There is liquor for sale at the airport when you arrive. It's duty free, so not a bad deal. Most everything is available. As for liqour stores on the island, I really don't recall any specifically, but think you can get rum and the more popular liquors at the large grocery store. Ambergris has a beer distributorship and you can buy the local, Belikin Beer, there by the case. It's much cheaper that way. If you have a fridge at your accomodations........ Belikin Beer seems to be the most popular, but there are a couple other brands. If you like a dark stout beer, like Guiness, Belikin has a WONDERFUL dark stout that will knock your socks off!!!
