#235762 - 04/18/07 08:12 PM Canoe race around the island

Just spoke to a friend who's in this on Saturday and Sunday. Seems they (he and his teammate) are paddling to Caye Caulker and back tomorrow morning by way of practice. Expect to be back in SP in time for lunch. What it must be to be young and fit again!

This is one time I can honestly say 'Thank God I'm not going to be in San Pedro!'

The mister would have me entered in that race (because it would be 'fun'! ...where is the rolleyes guy?) and I would curse the day I discovered San Pedro and likely the day I met him too!!! wink

Newfoundlanders are the only people in heaven who want to go home.

They took 6 1/2 hours to get from SP to Caye Caulker village and back. By my reckonings that's an average of about 5mph, pretty impressive in the sea. The other teams had better watch out at the weekend.

Anyone running a book on this?
