Hey Everyone,

There are, I believe, a disproportionate number of Coloradans living in, visiting, and generally enjoying Belize. I just moved to Boulder, CO, in part to strengthen this theory (and in part to be near my wife's family). As I plan some Denver/Boulder events surrounding the release of my Belize book this fall (Moon Handbooks Belize 7th Ed.), I just wanted to test the waters and see who's all out there.

Are there any official Belize-Colorado groups, events, gatherings up here on the Front Range? Or is it all just a random assortment of adventure-seekers who find the active opportunities of Colorado and Belize nicely complementary...? What about Belizeans living in Colorado?

Let me know -- and also if you have any ideas for events. I'm thinking of doing a Belize slide/music show at the Tattered Cover and the Boulder Bookstore, for starters, and maybe the bookstores will let me serve up some panty rippers.

Maybe we could combine some of these events to raise money for Belize charities, as well.

Cheers,

Josh

hi josh,,

i agree with the amount of Colo's i see around here. we have thought about it for some time as to why,, best i can come up with is #1 it can get cold there and Denver is, to me anyway, downright ugly in the winter.
#2 maybe Colo's are just a bit more adventurous than some?
can't help with the events idea but, I'll be there in august.(need any one barrel?)
i was born and raised in Glendale, the suburb completely surrounded by Denver. a product of Denver public schools. born at porter (sanitarium) in '56.

There used to be quite a big contingent of Coloradans on this board but haven't seen many lately. I get a lot of clients from CO. One in particular refers many many other cleints to me. He's in Boulder and I am sure would be interested in your festivities. I'll email you. He would be into it, I'm sure.

Personally I think it's the adventure/nature connection.

In today's news: Colorado man gets botfly infestation from Belize:

Man surprised by face bug infestation

One doctor thought the bleeding, strange bumps on Aaron Dallas' head might have been a gnat bite. A specialist thought it was shingles, though both doctors held out the possibility that it was something far more disturbing.

Then the bumps started moving...
