GoHawks and anyone else who is coning to Belize,

Fear factor can make certain individuals panic or do many things which when looked at in the clear light of day is without cause.

What we all need to appreciate is that we are dealing with the unknown and businesses such as a dive shops with all their money invested may well think it a god time to have a staff vacation top get the cost out of the way at the same time etc.

This next 24 hours will give a much better indication as to the Hurricanes path. History shows that in almost every case the winds drive Gods power north. That is the prognosis which ends up in the opinion that the storm will go north.

None of us know which way it will go, it is the lap of the Gods.

We receive US Television here and are as up to date as anyone. Most people are staying and will continue to do so. Please anyone who thinks Belize does not know how to protect it's citizens and visitors in such a climate must be very much misinformed. We are part of a regional response whom are very much in the know!

Sterling is the man who is potentially again in the forefront following his recent headline exploits in The Med. It his his boats which stay and his staff, colleagues and team who remain to save lives and property wherever possible.

The sea has been so rough today that there's been no prospect of diving anyway, and it looks like getting steadily worse from now on in. Why wait until the last moment when seas are really rough and it's difficult to move boats? - better get them to safety earlier.

Thanks for the feedback. This is so frustrating, but we've got so much already invested in this trip and we want to hope for the best so it looks like we are on our way, now to pack.

Regardless of Deans path the seas are very rough right now and there won't be any diving for awhile. I think people are smart to take care of their assests. Dive shops have too much "loose" inventory to just leave hanging.

If you are coming down as a visitor this weekend and can postpone your trip without too much hassle, I suggest you do this. Even if a Cat4/5 hurricane hits about 300 miles north of us, there will be no diving, no snorkeling, or water activity. The water will be very high and rough. Remember when Wilma went by? Many people will evacuate which means its possible many businesses will be closed.

However, if you still want to come, you can surely bet there will be lots of excitement in the air!

You got to appreciates this, I was in town yesterday and already there is a bustle of buying candles, battery's and such.
At the Grocery was an old lady of about 60 years+ with 5 bottles of Dark Carribean on the check out counter. She was counting them mumbling to herself as she pointed her finger at each bottle one at at time saying, "Saturday,Sunday,Monday,Tuesday...I wonder if they will be open by Wednesday?".
