Hi Immissing:
I do remember Keith. It was an October storm, not an August storm. Major difference.
If you will do a quick check you will find that not a single hurricane (save for one tropical storm named Chantal) has ever hit Belize in the month of August as long as hurricane records have been kept.
Big difference between August storms and October storms. But I can possibly understand the panic situation after the experience of Keith.
Thanks and cheers, Wendy

Im afraid Jon and WEndy misunderstood my comment. Dont take things to lightly as we did during Keith. It doesnt matter what month it happened, it can happen at anytime. Just MHO.

Thanks for posting that, Marty, but I think the current position of the storm makes this pic a little old. The storm has already passed underneath Jamaica and is heading towards the Caymans.
Thanks and cheers, Wendy

Thanks for posting that, Marty. SWEEEEEEET to hear Eiden live via the internet.
According to Eiden, the coordinates are 78.8 and 17.9. Caye Caulker is at 17 and 88. Pretty much, the eye is already north of us.
Thanks and cheers, Wendy

Jim is now on the radio, storm flags are up, cool it on the booze, assist the police force doing their jobs. tomorrow morning people who's homes will not stand hurricane force winds should evacuate early. may not have all day tomorrow to evacuate. waves may get bad, wind too. get to dock early and get to the mainland if your home cannot stand those winds.
hurricane watch now a warning. but officially still in red one. not in red two til midnite tonite or 0600 tomorrow probably.
yeah sweet to hear eiden...
